Determination 2017/14:

Remuneration and Allowances for Holders of Public Office and Judicial and Related Offices

  1. Pursuant to subsections 7(3) and 7(4) of the Remuneration Tribunal Act 1973, the Remuneration Tribunal has inquired into the remuneration and allowances to be paid to certain holders of public office, and other matters significantly related thereto, and determines as set out below.

(ii)        This determination commences the day after registration on the Federal Register of Legislation unless otherwise specified.

PART 1 – FULL-TIME OFFICES

1.1In this part, Determination Number 11 of 2017 is referred to as the Principal Determination.

1.2Table 2A of the Principal Determination is amended by inserting the following entry after the entry for “Merit Protection Commissioner”.

1.3Clause 1.2 commences on 1 July 2017.

1.4Table 2A of Part 2 of the Principal Determination is amended by deleting “2.2.12” in Column 3 of the entry for Parliamentary Budget Officer.

1.5The Additional Clauses to Table 2A of the Principal Determination are amended by deleting the entry in Clause 2.2.12 relating to the Parliamentary Budget Officer.

1.6The Additional Clauses to Table 2A of the Principal Determination are amended by inserting in Clause 2.2.12 the following: “Australian Human Rights Commission, President: Emeritus Professor Rosalind Croucher will receive $445,690 Total Remuneration for the initial term of her appointment, until 29 July 2024”

1.7Table 2A of Part 2 of the Principal Determination is amended by inserting “2.2.12” in Column 3 of the entry for President, Australian Human Rights Commission.

1.8Table 2A of Part 2 of the Principal Determination is amended by deleting “2.2.13” in Column 3 of the entry for Chief Executive Officer, Infrastructure Australia.

1.9The Additional Clauses to Table 2A of the Principal Determination are amended by deleting Clause 2.2.13.

1.10The Additional Clauses to Table 2A of the Principal Determination are amended by deleting the last sentence in Clause 2.2.3 .

PART 2 – PART-TIME OFFICES

2.1In this part, Determination Number 10 of 2017 is referred to as the Principal Determination.

2.2Table B3 of Schedule B of the Principal Determination is amended by inserting the following entry after the entry for “Companies Auditors Disciplinary Board”.

2.9Table B3 of the Principal Determination is amended by deleting “B3.19” in Column 5 of the entry for Financial Adviser Standards and Ethics Authority, Director.

2.10The Additional Sub-clauses to Table B3 of the Principal Determination are amended by deleting Clause B3.19.

2.11Table C2 of the Principal Determination is amended by deleting “C2.2” in Column 5 of the entry for Financial Adviser Standards and Ethics Authority, Chair.

2.12The Additional Sub-clauses to Table C2 are amended by deleting Clause “C2.2”.

PART 3 – JUDICIAL AND RELATED OFFICES

3.1In this part, Determination Number 09 of 2017 is referred to as the Principal Determination.

3.2The Additional Clauses to Table 3 of the Principal Determination are amended by replacing the date at Clause (3) of the entry for Major-General Ian Westwood AM, Chief Judge Advocate with “1 July 2017”.
