An Act to alter the law relating to the procedure under

The Designs and Trade Marks Act, 1884,' and An

Act to regulate grants of Patents for Inventions in

the Colony of Western Australia.'

the Legislative Council thereof, as follows :- BE it enacted by His Excellency the Governor of Western Australia and its Dependencies, by and with the advice and consent of

Patent Office—Registrar of Patents, Designs, and Trade Marks

Trade Marks Act, 1884,' and the Act intituled An Act to regulate grants of Patents for Inventions in the Colony of Western Australia,' • an Office with all requisite conveniences, which shall be called the Patent Office.

See 52 Vie., 2. The Patent Office shall be under the immediate control of an

All the powers, duties, privileges, and rights conferred upon or directed to be done by or to the Colonial Secretary under the provisions of either of the Acts aforesaid, or any general rules made under the provisions of ` The Designs and Trade Marks Act, 1884,' shall be con- ferred upon and done or exercised by or to the Registrar of Patents, Designs, and Trade Marks ; and all applications, notices, documents,

Substitution of matters, and things required by either of the Acts or rules aforesaid	Patent Office

Reading of words 6. The words Colonial Secretary' and'Colonial Secretary's Office,' general rules made under the provisions of The Designs and Trade Marks Act, 1884,' shall be respectively read Registrar of Patents, Designs, and Trade Marks,' and 'Patent Office.'

48 Vic. 7 1 and wherever they may occur in either of the aforesaid Acts, or in any

said or of any general rules as aforesaid shall be sealed with the seal of the Patent Office and not with the Public Seal of the Colony, except in the case of Letters Patent and Letters of registration of a Patent which shall be sealed in each case with both seals.
