10 (QugensImir ANNO VICESIMO QUARTO ELIZABETHAE SECUNDAE REGINAE No. 5 of 1975 An Act to provide for the abolition of any requirement that a woman describe herself or her calling by reference to her condition in life [ASSENTED TO 1ST MAY, 1975] BE IT ENACTED by the Queen's _ Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland in Parliament assembled , and by the authority of the same , as follows:- 1: Snort title . This Act may be cited as the Description of Women (Reference to Condition in Life) Act 1975. 2. Interpretstiea . In this Act, save where a contrary intention appears-- Act" " ' includes any Proclamation , Order in Council , regulation, rule, by - law or ordinance made under any Act; " condition in life " means the condition of a woman in relation to whether she is or has been married.
Description of Women (Reference to Condition in Life) Act 1975, No. 5 11 3. Abolition of requirement . Subject to section 4, on and from the passing of this Act, a woman shall not be required by any Act, rule of law or practice to describe herself or her calling by reference to her condition in life and -any such requirement shall be of no force or effect. 4. Non-application of Act. This Act does not apply to a requirement of any Act that a woman describe herself or her calling by reference to her condition in life where her condition in life is material to the object sought to be attained by resort to the provisions of that Act.
