DENTISTS REGISTRATION (NO. 2)

An Ordinance to amend the Dentists Registration Ordinance 1931-1967, as amended by the Dentists
Registration Ordinance 1970.
1.—(1.) This Ordinance may be cited as the Dentists Registration Ordinance (No. 2) 1970.*
(2.) The Dentists Registration Ordinance 1931-1967,f as amended by the Dentists Registration Ordinance 1970,$ is in this Ordinance referred to as the Principal Ordinance.
(3.) Section 1 of the Dentists Registration Ordinance 1970 is
amended by omitting sub-section (2.).
(4.) The Principal Ordinance, as amended by this Ordinance, may
be cited as the Dentists Registration Ordinance 1931-1970.
2. Section 16 of the Principal Ordinance is amended—
(a) by omitting sub-section (1.) and inserting in its stead the following sub-section:—
" (1.) A person who attends for the purpose of giving evidence before the Board is entitled to receive such fees and travelling expenses in accordance with the scale in the Second Schedule to the Public Works Committee Regula tions as in force from time to time under the Public Works Committee Act 1969 as the Chairman or, if the Chairman is absent from the meeting of the Board, the Deputy Chair man determines."; and

(b) by omitting from sub-section (2.) the word " allowances " and inserting in its stead the word " expenses ".
3. Section 34 of the Principal Ordinance is amended by omitting sub-section (1B.) and inserting in its stead the following sub
section:—
" (1B.) Nothing in this section prohibits a person who occupies, or is employed to perform the duties of, an office under the Public Service Act 1922-1968 of Dental Therapist (Female) from doing any act which would be a contravention of this section if the act is done by that person in the performance of the duties of that office and subject to the direction and control of a registered dentist.".

4. Section 38 of the Principal Ordinance is amended by omitting
sub-section (2.) and inserting in its stead the following sub-section:—
" (2.) Nothing in this section applies to a person who occupies, or is employed to perform the duties of, an office under the Public Service Act 1922-1968 of Dental Therapist (Female) in the performance of the duties of that office if those duties are performed subject to the direction and control of a registered dentist.".
5. Section 40 of the Principal Ordinance is amended by omitting
sub-section (4.) and inserting in its stead the following sub-section:—
" (4.) A person (not being a party) who attends before the Minister
for the purpose of giving evidence is entitled to receive such fees and
travelling expenses in accordance with the scale in the Second Schedule
to the Public Works Committee Regulations as in force from time to
time under the Public Works Committee Act 1969 as the Minister
determines.".
