| the same, as follows :— |
1 . This Act may be cited as the " Dentists (Further
Amendment) Act, 1916."
2 . Section two of the Dentists (Amendment) Act,
1916, is amended as follows :—
(a) In paragraph (a) omit all words after " teeth or jaws " where lastly occurring. (b) In paragraph (b) omit " operative," insert the words "operatingdental"; and omit "dentist," insert " person practising in dentistry."
3 . Section four of the same Act is amended by inserting after " u s e " the words "without the consent
(a) In subsection one, after " continue to so practise " insert the words " a s an unregistered dentist". (b)
In the same subsection omit "an examination in surgical dentistry, mechanical dentistry, and materia medica ", insert the words " a written or oral and practical examination in surgical and mechanical dentistry, and a written or oral examination in materia medica". (c)

4 . Section live of the same Act is amended as
follows :—

(d) In subsection three, after the words " his own account" insert the words " o r as an operating dental assistant to a registered dentist in New
South Wales" . (e) In subsection four, after the first paragraph and before the first proviso insert the words :— " A n y person who proves to the satisfaction of board that he has practised in dentistry in New South Wales on Ins own account for not less than eight years prior to the commencement of this Act shall be entitled to be registered as a dentist under this Act " . (f) In the same section insert at the end of the first proviso the words " and of good professional reputation."
5 . Section six of the same Act is amended by omitting " practise as a dentist" where first occurring, and inserting the words " practise in dentistry."
6 . Section seven of the same Act is amended by adding thereto the following:—
12B. NO person shall practise in dentistry except
in his own name.
7. The holder of a recognised certificate, as herein
before defined, shall not be entitled to be registered in
virtue of such certificate under this Act as a dentist without further prescribed examination, unless he shows
to the satisfaction of the board that by the laws or regulations in that behalf in force in the country where
such certificate was issued the right to practise dentistrytherein is granted to persons who are registered as dentists under this Act by virtue of their being so registered and without further examination.
