AN ACT to amend the Dentists Act, 1939-1963.

[Assented to 20th October, 1967.]

BE it enacted by the Queen's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and the Legislative Assembly of Western Australia, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—

Short title

1. (1) This Act may be cited as the Dentists Act and citation.

Commence-

ment. 2. This Act shall come into operation on a date

to be fixed by proclamation.

amended. 3. Subsection (1) of section forty-four of the

principal Act is amended

(a)	by adding after the word, "he" in line one of paragraph (d), the words, "has gained by examination and";
(b)	by substituting for the words, "in any part of the British Dominions" in lines three and four of subparagraph (ii) of paragraph (d), the passage, "that was, when the diploma or degree was granted, in any part of the British Commonwealth of Nations or the Queen's Dominions";
(c)	by deleting the word, "or" appearing immediately after subparagraph (ii) of paragraph (d);
(d)	by substituting for the passage, "Austra- lia." in the last line of subparagraph (iii) of paragraph (d), the passage, "Australia; or"; and
(e)	by adding at the end of paragraph (d), a subparagraph as follows

(iv) a diploma or degree in dental surgery or dental science that was granted by an institution in the United States of America and that is accredited by the American Dental Association. .

amended. 4. Section fifty-one of the principal Act is amended by substituting for the passage, "paragraph (iii) of the proviso to subsection (1)" in lines two and three of paragraph (b) of the proviso to that section, the passage, "paragraph (b) of subsection (2)".
