Her Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, has made the following Regulation under the Dental Technicians Registration Act 1975.

Explanatory note
The object of this Regulation is to amend the Dental Technicians Registration Regulation
2003:
| (a) | to ensure that certain references to Australian and New Zealand standards also refer to those standards as in force from time to time, and |
| (b) | to provide that hands may be cleaned by using non-water cleansers or antiseptics, whether or not washing facilities involving water and a soap or antiseptic are available. |
This Regulation is made under the Dental Technicians Registration Act 1975, including section 35 (the general regulation-making power).

1 Name of Regulation
This Regulation is the Dental Technicians Registration Amendment
Regulation 2006.
2 Commencement
This Regulation commences on 31 March 2006.
3 Amendment of Dental Technicians Registration Regulation 2003
The Dental Technicians Registration Regulation 2003 is amended as set out in Schedule 1.

(Clause 3)
[1] Clause 3 Definitions
Insert “, as in force from time to time” after “facilities” in the definition of
AS/NZS 4187.[2] Clause 3, definition of “AS/NZS 4815”
Insert “, as in force from time to time” after “environment”.
[3] Schedule 2 Infection control standards for dental prosthetists
Omit “if any of the items specified in paragraph (a) are unavailable,” from clause 3 (2) (b).
[4] Schedule 3 Infection control standards for dental technicians (other than dental prosthetists)
Omit “if any of the items specified in paragraph (a) are unavailable,” from clause 3 (2) (b).
