Part 1—Preliminary

1—Short title

These regulations may be cited as the Dental Practice (General) Variation Regulations 2005.

2—Commencement

These regulations come into operation on the day on which they are made.

3—Variation provisions

In these regulations, a provision under a heading referring to the variation of specified regulations varies the regulations so specified.

Part 2—Variation of Dental Practice (General) Regulations 2003

4—Variation of regulation 6—Prescribed branches of dentistry (section 31(b) of Act)

Regulation 6—after paragraph (j) insert:

(k)special needs dentistry.

5—Variation of Schedule 2—Prohibited words

Schedule 2, table—after the entry relating to the prescribed words "Public health dentist" insert:

Special needs dentist

Register of specialists in special needs dentistry
