1.	Citation These rules may be cited as the Dental Board Amendment
Rules 2001.

Dental Board Amendment Rules 2001

Made by the Dental Board of Western Australia and approved by the
Governor in Executive Council.

2.           The rules amended

The amendments in these rules are to the Dental Board
Rules 1973*

3. Rules 22 to 22E repealed
Rules 22 to 22E are repealed.

4.            Rule 23 amended

(1) Rule 23(1) is amended by deleting "paedodontist" and inserting
instead -

paediatric dentist ".

(2) Rule 23(4) is amended by deleting "paedodontics" and inserting
instead -

paediatric dentistry

5.            Part IX replaced

Part IX is repealed and the following Part is inserted instead -

Part IX - Advertising

27.         Advertising

A dentist who advertises, or causes to be advertised, any material relating to the dentist's practice of dentistry that -

(a)	is false, misleading, or deceptive;
(b)	creates an unjustified expectation of beneficial

treatment; or

(c) promotes the unnecessary or inappropriate use of the dentist's services,

commits an offence.
Penalty: $200.
