1  Name

This instrument is the Defence (Individual benefits) Determination 2022 (No. 6).

2  Commencement

This instrument commences on the day after registration.

3  Authority

This instrument is made under section 58B of the Defence Act 1903.

4  Purpose

This determination provides a member with removal of their furniture and effects to a personal location, rather than having them stored at Commonwealth expense, while they are on a long-term posting overseas.

5  Application

This Determination applies to the member holding the employee identification number 8243380.

6  Definition

The Defence Determination means Defence Determination 2016/19, Conditions of service, as amended.

7  Removal

1.The member is eligible for the removal of furniture and effects that meets the following:

a.    The furniture and effects would be moveable under Chapter 6 Part 5 of the Defence Determination

b.   The furniture and effects were not removed to the member’s overseas posting location under section 14.3.5 of the Defence Determination.

2.The removal of furniture and effects is between the following locations.

a.    Before the commencement of the member’s long-term posting overseas — from the member’s posting location within Australia to a personal location in Brisbane.

b.   On the member’s return to Australia from a long-term posting overseas — from the personal location under subparagraph 2.a. to the member’s next posting location in Australia.

8  Storage

The member is not eligible for storage in Australia under Chapter 6 Part 5 of the Defence Determination of their furniture and effects that could be moved under this Determination.

9  Repeal

This Determination repeals on 28 February 2027.
