1  Name

This instrument is the Defence (Individual benefits) Determination 2022 (No. 10).

2  Commencement

This instrument commences on the day after registration.

3  Authority

This instrument is made under section 58B of the Defence Act 1903.

4  Purpose

The purpose of this Determination is to provide a member outside Australia travel and removal assistance to relocate to Australia to commence service in the permanent forces.

5  Definitions

In this Determination, the following apply.

Baggage benefits means benefits provided under Chapter 14 Part 4 Division 2 of the Defence Determination.

Defence Determination means the Defence Determination 2016/19, Conditions of service, as in force from time to time.

Travel and removal benefits means benefits under section 14.3.13 of the Defence Determination.

Dependant has the same meaning given by section 12.3.5 of the Defence Determination.

6  Application

This Determination applies to the member holding the employee identification number: 8097724.

7  Travel and removal benefit

The member is eligible for the following for themself and their dependants from Singapore to Canberra, Australia.

a.     Travel and removal benefits.

b.    Baggage benefits.

8  Class of travel

The member and their dependants are eligible for travel at business class.

Note: This includes any connecting flights for the journey from the overseas location.

9  Means of payment

A payment made under this Determination is payable in one the following ways.

a.     To the service provider.

b.    By reimbursement to the member.

10  Condition of eligibility

If the member ceases service, commences service under a flexible service determination, transfers to the reserves or another Service before the later of the following dates, the member must repay the cost of benefits provided under this Determination.

a.     16 January 2026.

b.    Three years from the date the member commences service in the permanent forces.
