1 Name
This instrument is the Defence (Individual benefits) Determination 2022 (No. 1).
2 Commencement
This instrument commences on day after registration.
3 Authority
This instrument is made under section 58B of the Defence Act 1903.
4 Application
This Determination applies to the member holding the employee identification number 8509244.
5 Leave
1.The member is eligible for the equivalent of 14 weeks leave at full pay.
2.The following conditions apply to the leave.
a. The leave must be applied for using form AF088 – Application for leave.
b. The leave must commence within 14 weeks of the child joining the member’s family.
c. The leave must be taken in a single continuous period.
d. The leave may be taken in any combination of full pay or half pay that is not more than the equivalent amount of full-time leave.
6 Effect on other benefits
The leave provided under this Determination counts as effective service for benefits provided under any of the following.
a. Defence Determination, Conditions of service 2016/19, as in force from time to time.
b. A determination made under Section 58H of the Defence Act 1903, as in force from time to time.
7 Repeals
This Determination repeals on 31 December 2022.
