Defence Force (Salaries) Regulations2(Amendment)

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations under the Defence Act 1903, the Naval Defence Act 1910 and the Air Force Act 1923.

Commencement

1. These Regulations shall be deemed to have come into operation on 1 July 1982.

Rations and quarters charge

2. Regulation 19 of the Defence Force (Salaries) Regulations is amended—

  1. (a)

    by omitting from sub-paragraph (5) (h) (ii) “or”;

  2. (b)

    by adding at the end of sub-regulation (5) the following word and paragraph—

    “; or (j) being a category O member (other than one who is entitled to retention of lodgings allowance, or travelling allowance, for that day or in respect of that period) who has permission to live out and normally lives out, is required to live in temporarily for service reasons”; and

  3. (c)

    by adding at the end of sub-regulation (10) the following definitions:

    “‘retention of lodgings allowance’ means a retention of lodgings allowance for members specified by the Minister;

    “‘travelling allowance’ means a travelling allowance for members specified by the Minister.”.
