REGULATIONS UNDER THE DEFENCE FORCE RETIREMENT AND

DEATH BENEFITS ACT 1973.*

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations under the Defence Force Retirement and Death Benefits Act 1973.

Amendments of the Defence Force Retirement and Death Benefits (Annual Rates of Pay) Regulations 

Annual rate of pay in respect of period 1 October 1972 to 8 or 9 February 1973.

1. Regulation 3 of the Defence Force Retirement and Death Benefits (Annual Rates of Pay) Regulations is amended by omitting from sub-regulation (4) the figures “ -1971 ”.

2. Schedule 2 to the Defence Force Retirement and Death Benefits (Annual Rates of Pay) Regulations is amended by omitting the words and figures—

Amendments of Statutory Rules 1976, No. 42.

4. Regulation 2 of Statutory Rules 1976, No. 42 is amended by omitting from the table the items relating to sub-regulations 4 (4) and 4 (9).

Application.

5. The Defence Force Retirement and Death Benefits (Annual Rates of Pay) Regulations as amended by regulations 2 and 3 apply in relation to service by—

(a) members of the Navy and of the Army—on or after 28 May 1976; and

(b) members of the Air Force—on or after 27 May 1976.
