under section 12 of the Defence Amendment
Act 1979.

1. Regulation 4 of the
Defence Force (Reserves) (Financial) Regulations is amended by omitting from
the table:

2. Schedule 1 to the
Defence Force (Reserves) (Financial) Regulations is amended—
(a)
by inserting “Commodore” in Column 1 opposite “Brigadier” appearing in Column
2; and
(b)
by inserting “Rear Admiral” in Column 1 opposite “Major General” appearing in
Column 2.
Application
3. The Defence Force
(Reserves) (Financial) Regulations as amended by clause 1 of this Interim
Determination shall apply in relation to service by a Principal Chaplain on or
after 27 September 1982.
Transitional
4. Where a Principal
Chaplain appointed with effect from 27 September 1982 performed the duties of a
chaplain in the Army (in addition to the duties of a Chaplain 4th Class or a
Chaplain 3rd Class) during the period from and including 1 February 1982 to and
including 26 September 1982, he shall be paid, in respect of service rendered
during that period, an amount equal to the amount (if any) by which $4,727.32
exceeds the amount of pay to which he was entitled under regulation 7 of the
Defence Force (Reserves) (Financial) Regulations in respect of his service
during that period.
5. Where a Principal
Chaplain appointed with effect from 27 September 1982 performed the duties
referred to in clause 4 of this Interim Determination during the period from
and including 1 July 1981 to and including 31 January 1982, he shall be paid,
in respect of service rendered during that period, an amount equal to the
amount (if any) by which $4,203.12 exceeds the amount of pay to which he was
entitled under regulation 7 of the Defence Force (Reserves) (Financial)
Regulations in respect of his service during that period.
