Declaration of Warlike Service

OPERATION PALATE II

I, De-Anne Kelly, Minister for Veterans’ Affairs, for the Minister for Defence:

a.       declare that:

(i) the area of operations for Operation PALATE II comprises Afghanistan; and

(ii) service rendered as a member of the Australian Defence Force allotted for duty on Operation PALATE II on and from 27 June 2005 in the area of operations is warlike service for the purposes of the definition of “warlike service” in section 3C of the Act.

b.         This Declaration commences on the day after it is registered.
