Declaration of Warlike Service

OPERATION PALATE

I, De-Anne Kelly, Minister for Veterans’ Affairs, for the Minister for Defence:

a.revoke the instrument made under section 3C of the Defence Force (Home Loans Assistance) Act 1990  (the Act) on

18 June 2003 in relation to Operation PALATE; and

b.       declare that:

(i) the area of operations comprises Afghanistan; and

(ii) service rendered as a member of the Australian Defence Force allotted for duty on Operation PALATE during the period 18 April 2003 to 5 July 2004 in the area of operations is warlike service for the purposes of the definition of “warlike service” in section 3C of the Act.

c.         This Declaration commences on the day after it is registered
