1  Name

This instrument is Defence Determination, Conditions of Service Amendment (Funerals) Determination 2018 (No. 36).

2  Commencement

This instrument commences on 20 September 2018.

3  Authority

This instrument is made under section 58B of the Defence Act 1903.

4  Schedules

Each instrument that is specified in a Schedule to this instrument is amended or repealed as set out in the applicable items in the Schedule concerned, and any other item in a Schedule to this instrument has effect according to its terms.

Schedule 1—Amendments

Defence Determination 2016/19, Conditions of service

1	Subparagraph 11.4.6.1.c.ii (Member or former member this Division applies to)
After the paragraph, insert:
iii.	A member of the Air Force who held a one-star rank or above before 7 May 1999.
iv.	A Chaplain who was appointed as a Principal Air Chaplain before 7 May 1999.
2	Section 11.4.12 (Floral and non-floral tributes)
Omit the subsection, substitute.
1.	The CDF may approve floral and non-floral tributes in respect of a member at Commonwealth expense for any of the following events.
a.	An annual celebration of remembrance for a deceased member or deceased former member.
b.	A memorial occasion of national importance for the remembrance of a deceased member or deceased former member.
2.	The maximum amount payable for floral and non-floral tributes is $250.
3	Section 15.9.2 (Member this Part applies to)
Omit the section, substitute:

15.9.2    Person this Part applies to

This Part applies to a member, including a member on Reserve service, and a dependant living with the member at the posting location when the member is on either of the following.
a.	Long-term posting overseas.
b.	Short-term duty overseas.
