This Determination is Defence Determination 2017/15, Salaries consequentials, special emergency accommodation, remote locations and miscellaneous amendments.

2.

This Determination may also be cited as Defence Determination 2017/15.

2 Commencement

1.

Each provision of this instrument specified in column 1 of the table commences, or is taken to have commenced, in accordance with column 2 of the table. Any other statement in column 2 has effect according to its terms.

This instrument is made under section 58B of the Defence Act 1903.

1 Paragraph 3.2.15.a (Reserve Assistance Program attendance), note

Omit "See Part 1 Part A section A.1.5 and subsection B.3.4.4, Salary for Reserve Service", substitute "See Part 1 Part A section A.1.5, Salary for Reserve Service, and subsection B.3.4.4, Rate of salary for a specialist officer".

2 Subsection 3.2.26.6 (Salary rate for training – start and advancement dates)

Omit "dental" (wherever occurring), substitute "medical".

3 Subsection 3.2.30.3 (Increment advancement), table item 2, cross reference note

Omit the note, substitute:

7 Section 7.5.3 (Definitions – SAFE scheme), table

Omit the entry for the SAFE scheme, substitute:

The SAFE scheme The SAFE scheme provides emergency assistance for persons who cannot remain in their home due to a domestic crisis. The domestic crisis may be happening or be threatened.
Note: The scheme may be known as the special accommodation for emergencies scheme.
Examples:

a.

A person is threatened with domestic violence.

b.

Home invasion, burglary or other criminal activity.

8 Section 7.5.3 (Definitions – SAFE scheme), Related information note

After table item 2, add:

The CDF may approve emergency assistance for a person who meets both of the following conditions.

a.

They are a person described in subsection 7.5.6.3.

b.

They are under threat of a domestic crisis, or in a domestic crisis.
