1 Name
This instrument is the Defence (Conditions of service) Determination 2020 (No. 29).
2 Commencement
This instrument commences on the day of registration.
3 Authority
This instrument is made under section 58B of the Defence Act 1903.
4 Schedules
Each instrument that is specified in a Schedule to this instrument is amended or repealed as set out in the applicable items in the Schedule concerned, and any other item in a Schedule to this instrument has effect according to its terms.
Schedule 1—Overseas conditions of service
1 Purpose
This Schedule extends a member's status as an accompanied member overseas to maintain the member’s eligibility for accompanied overseas conditions of service benefits.
2 Interpretation
In this Schedule the following apply.
Accompanied member has the same meaning as given in section 12.3.2 of Defence Determination 2016/19, Conditions of service, as in force from time to time.
Overseas condition of service means a benefit provided under Chapters 12, 14 and 15 of Defence Determination 2016/19, Conditions of service, as in force from time to time.
Posting location has the same meaning as given in section 12.3.15 of Defence Determination 2016/19, Conditions of service, as in force from time to time.
3 Member this Schedule applies to
This Schedule applies to the member who holds the employee number 8183213.
4 Overseas conditions of service
1. If the member was eligible for an overseas condition of service as an accompanied member immediately before 20 November 2020, the member continues to be eligible for those overseas conditions of service.
Note: The member is not eligible for any additional overseas conditions of service that they were not eligible for as an accompanied member immediately before 20 November 2020.
2. Benefits provided under subsection 1 cease on the earlier of the following dates.
a. The date the member leaves the posting location at the end of his posting.
b. 31 January 2021.
Schedule 2—Education assistance
1 Purpose
This Schedule provides education assistance to a member who is on long-term posting overseas for their child.
2 Member who this Schedule applies to
This Schedule applies to the member who holds the employee number 8099141.
3 Education assistance
The member is eligible to be reimbursed $21,298.04 for education assistance costs.

Omit “8128213”, substitute “8183213”.
2 Transitional provision
Section 1 of this Schedule applies as though it had commenced on 13 November 2020.
