REGULATIONS UNDER THE DEFENCE ACT 1903-1970.*

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL in and over the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations under the Defence Act 1903-1970.

Amendments of the Defence Committee Regulations 

The Defence Committee.

1. Regulation 4 of the Defence Committee Regulations is amended—

(a) by omitting sub-regulation (1.) and inserting in its stead the following sub-regulation:—

“(1.) There shall be a committee, to be known as the Defence Committee, which shall consist of—

(a) the Secretary to the Department of Defence;

(b) the Chairman, Chiefs of Staff Committee;

(c) the Chief of Naval Staff;

(d) the Chief of the General Staff;

(e) the Chief of the Air Staff;

(f) the Secretary to the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet;

(g) the Secretary to the Department of the Treasury; and

(h) the Secretary to the Department of Foreign Affairs.”; and

(b) by omitting from sub-regulation (4.) the words “the Chairman of the Chiefs of Staff Committee” and inserting in their stead the words “the Chairman, Chiefs of Staff Committee”.

2. Regulation 5 of the Defence Committee Regulations is amended—

(a) by omitting from sub-regulation (2.) the words “the Chairman of the Chiefs of Staff Committee” and inserting in their stead the words “the Chairman, Chiefs of Staff Committee,”; and

(b) by omitting from sub-regulation (3.) the words “the Chairman of the Chiefs of Staff Committee” and inserting in their stead the words “the Chairman, Chiefs of Staff Committee”.

Meetings.

3. Regulation 6 of the Defence Committee Regulations is amended by omitting from sub-regulations (2.) and (3.) the words “the Chairman of the Chiefs of Staff Committee” and inserting in their stead the words “the Chairman, Chiefs of Staff Committee,”.
