REGULATIONS UNDER THE DEFENCE ACT 1903-1975.*

I, THE ADMINISTRATOR of the Government of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations under the Defence Act 1903-1975.

Amendments of the Defence (Certification of Deaths) Regulations

Commencement.

1.These Regulations shall come into operation on 9 February 1976.

Amendments of the Defence (Certification of Deaths) Regulations.

2.The Defence (Certification of Deaths) Regulations are amended as set out in the following table:—

Sub-regulation 4 (1).................	Omit “ of these Regulations ” (first occurring).
	Omit “ the last preceding regulation ”, substitute “ sub-regulation 3 (2) ”.
Sub-regulation 4 (2).................	Omit from paragraph (a) “ paragraph (a) or (b) of the last preceding sub-regulation ”, substitute “ paragraph (1) (a) or (1) (b) ”.
	Omit from paragraph (b) “ paragraph (c) of the last preceding sub-regulation ”, substitute “ paragraph (1) (c) ”.
	Omit from paragraph (b) “of these Regulations”.
Sub-regulation 5 (1).................	Omit from the definition of “ certificate of death to which these Regulations apply ” the words “ of these Regulations ” (wherever occurring).
Omit from the definition of “ certificate of death to which these Regulations apply ” the words “ sub-regulation (3) of regulation 11”, substitute the word and figures “ sub-regulation 11 (3) ”.

Sub-regulation 6 (1).....................	Omit, substitute the following:—
“ (1) The Minister of State for Defence may, by notice in the Gazette, authorize a person to issue certificates of death of members of the Navy, the Army or the Air Force.”.
Sub-regulation 6 (2).....................	Omit.
Sub-regulation 6 (3).....................	Omit.
Regulation 7................................	Omit “ the Navy, the Department of the Army, or the Department of Air, as the case may be ”, substitute “ Defence ”.
Sub-regulation 11 (1)...................	Omit “ Twenty pounds ”, substitute “ $40 ”.
