I make the following order under section 35(3) of the Defamation Act 2005 .19 June 2006

1Short titleThis order may be cited as the Defamation Order 2006 . 2CommencementThis order takes effect on 1 July 2006. 3InterpretationIn this order – Act means the Defamation Act 2005 ; maximum damages amount has the same meaning as in section 35(1) of the Act. 4Maximum damages amountFor the purposes of section 35(1) of the Act, the maximum damages amount that is to apply from 1 July 2006 is declared to be $259 500.
