This Declaration is the Declaration of Quality Assurance Activity under section 124X of the Health Insurance Act 1973 – QAA 9/2016.

  1. Commencement

This Declaration commences the day after registration.

  1. Cessation

This Declaration will cease to be in force as if repealed at the end of 5 years after the Declaration is signed.

  1. Authority

This Declaration is made under section 124X of the Health Insurance Act 1973.

  1. Declaration of quality assurance activity

A quality assurance activity described in the Schedule to this Instrument is, to the extent the activity relates to health services provided in Australia, declared to be a quality assurance activity to which Part VC of the Health Insurance Act 1973 applies.

1           Title

Australasian Vascular Audit (AVA)

Description:

The AVA audit aims to prospectively capture all private and public vascular surgery procedures performed in Australia and New Zealand. It will allow for real-time comparison of outcomes for an individual or unit with the peer group. Information will be gathered to provide reliable bi-national data for training, research and publication.

The AVA Audit is operated by the Australian and New Zealand Society for Vascular Surgery (ANZSVS).
