HEREAS doubts havea1 iscn as to the validity in the Province Preamble.of South Australia of the marriage of a man with the sister
of his deceased wife, and it is expedient to remove such doubts-Be
it therefore Enacted by the Governor of the Provincc of South
Australia, with ths advice and consent of the Legislative Council ancl House of Assembly of the said Province, in this present Parlia- ment assembled, as follows:
1. All marriages which have been heretofore, or which shall be Parriage8
hereafter duly solernnizcd, within the said Province, between any ceased
person and his deceased wife's sister shall be dcemed, and are hereby | " |
declared valid, and of full force and effect, any law or custom to the contrary notwitstanding: Provided that this Act shall not render valid any such marriage in any casc where either of the parties to such marriage shdl thereafter, before the passing of this Act, have lawfully intermarried with any other person; nor shall the passirg of this Act, deprive or be held to have deprived any peison of any property which such person may have lawfully inherited prior to the coming into operation of this Act, or affect any
