Daylight Saving Amendment Act 2005

An Act to amend the Daylight Saving Act 1968

Be it enacted by His Excellency the Governor of Tasmania, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and House of Assembly, in Parliament assembled, as follows:

1Short titleThis Act may be cited as the Daylight Saving Amendment Act 2005 . 2CommencementThis Act commences on the day on which this Act receives the Royal Assent. 3Principal ActIn this Act, the Daylight Saving Act 1968 is referred to as the Principal Act. 4Section 3A substituted Section 3A of the Principal Act is repealed and the following section is substituted: 3AExtension of time for period in 2006 (1)  Notwithstanding section 3 and anything in the Standard Time Act 1895 , from the hour of 2 a.m. of the first Sunday in the month of October 2005 until the hour of 2 a.m. of the first Sunday in the month of April 2006, Tasmanian summer time throughout the State is to be one hour in advance of standard time and is to be observed accordingly. (2)  An order in force under section 3(1A) is of no effect during the period specified in subsection (1) . (3)  In this section – the hour of 2 a.m. means that hour as determined by standard time.
