DARWIN PORT (HANDLING AND TRANSPORT OF DANGEROUS CARGOES) BY-LAWS

By-laws under the Darwin Port Corporation Act

1Citation

These By-laws may be cited as the Darwin Port (Handling and Transport of Dangerous Cargoes) By-laws.

2Definition

In these By-laws:

Australian Standard AS 3846-2005 means Australian Standard AS 3846-2005 "The handling and transport of dangerous cargoes in port areas":

  • (a)

    in force at the time these By-laws are made; or

  • (b)

    if the Minister has published in the Gazette a notice that a particular amendment is to be incorporated in the By-laws – as so amended.

3Adoption of Australian Standard

These By-laws adopt the provisions of Australian Standard AS 3846-2005 as by-laws of the Port Corporation in relation to the Port of Darwin.

4Copy of Australian Standard to be available

The Port Corporation must make available a copy of Australian Standard AS 3846‑2005 at its office for inspection by any person during normal business hours.

5Repeal

The Port (Handling of Dangerous Goods and Oils) By-laws (Regulations No. 1 of 1981) are repealed.
