DARLING HARBOUR AUTHORITY ACT 1984 - REGULATION
(Relating to payment of fares)

HIS Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of the Darling Harbour Authority Act 1984, has been pleased to make the Regulation set forth hereunder.

The Darling Harbour (Monorail) Regulation 1988 is amended:
(a) by omitting the definition of "ticket" from clause 3;
(b) by omitting Part 2 and by inserting instead the following Part:
PART 2 - FARES
Travelling without having paid fare
4. A person who is of or above the age of 5 years must not travel on the monorail transport system unless the appropriate fare for the distance travelled, or for the period during which the travel takes place, has been paid by or on behalf of that person.

EXPLANATORY NOTE
The object of this Regulation is to amend the Darling Harbour (Monorail)
Regulation 1988 so as:
(a) to remove references in that regulation to tickets; and (b) to replace a provision that prohibits persons from travelling on the monorail without having the appropriate ticket with a provision that prohibits persons from travelling on the monorail without paying the appropriate fare; and (c) to raise the age below which a fare is not payable for travel on the monorail from 4 to 5 years.
