An Act to amend the Dangerous Substances Act 2004 and Dangerous Substances (General) Regulation 2004
The Legislative Assembly for the Australian Capital Territory enacts as follows:
Part 1Preliminary
Name of Act
This Act is the Dangerous Substances Amendment Act 2011.
Commencement
This Act commences on the day after its notification day.
NoteThe naming and commencement provisions automatically commence on the notification day (see Legislation Act, s 75 (1)).
Legislation amended
This Act amends the Dangerous Substances Act 2004 and the Dangerous Substances (General) Regulation 2004.

Meaning of asbestos and asbestos product
Section 47Asubstitute
47AMeaning of asbestos
In this Act:
asbestos means the asbestiform varieties of mineral silicates belonging to the serpentine or amphibole groups of rock-forming minerals including the following:
(a)actinolite asbestos;
(b)grunerite (or amosite) asbestos (brown);
(c)anthophyllite asbestos;
(d)chrysotile (white);
(e)crocidolite (blue);
(f)tremolite asbestos.
