Dangerous Goods (Fees) Regulations 1998

I, the Governor in and over the State of Tasmania and its Dependencies in the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Executive Council, make the following regulations under the Dangerous Goods Act 1998 .14 December 1998

1Short titleThese regulations may be cited as the Dangerous Goods (Fees) Regulations 1998 . 2CommencementThese regulations take effect on the day on which the Dangerous Goods Act 1998 commences. 3InterpretationIn these regulations, unit means – (a) in the case of a solid, a tonne; or (b) in the case of a liquid or gas, a kilolitre. 4FeesThe fees set out in Schedule 1 are prescribed as the fees that are payable under the Dangerous Goods (General) Regulations 1998 in respect of the matters to which they respectively relate. 5RescissionThe Dangerous Goods (Fees) Regulations 1992 are rescinded. Regulation 3

PART 1Inspection fees

1. Loading or unloading Class 2.1 or Class 3 dangerous goods on or from a vessel by means of a pipeline –
(a) for the first 1 000 tonnes or part of that weight	200.00
(b) for each additional 1 000 tonnes or part of that weight	10.00

PART 2Fees in respect of permits, registrations, applications and licences

1. Permits and registrations –
(a) autogas installer’s registration fee	50.00
(b) issue or renewal of a shotfirer’s permit	50.00
(c) issue of a fireworks permit –
(i) for fireworks display in which only Type 2 fireworks are used	50.00
(ii) for fireworks display in which any Type 3 fireworks are used	100.00
2. Applications –
(a) approval of construction or operation of a pipeline	100.00
(b) approval of site and construction of depot or alteration of licensed depot –	50.00
3. Licences –
(a) transfer of any licence	20.00
(b) issue or renewal of an exporter’s licence	50.00
(c) issue or renewal of an importer’s licence	50.00
(d) issue or renewal of a seller’s licence –
(i) for blasting explosives	100.00
(ii) for fireworks	100.00
(iii) for safety cartridges and propellant powder	50.00
(e) issue or renewal of a manufacturer’s licence –
(i) for Class 1.4S explosives or fireworks	50.00
(ii) for any other explosives	150.00
(f) issue or renewal of a keeper’s licence to keep dangerous goods (in the form of explosives) –
(i) not exceeding 100kg	30.00
(ii) exceeding 100kg and not exceeding 250kg	40.00
(iii) exceeding 250kg and not exceeding 500kg	50.00
(iv) exceeding 500kg and not exceeding 1 000kg	60.00
(v) exceeding 1 000kg and not exceeding 2 000kg	80.00
(vi) exceeding 2 000kg and not exceeding 5 000kg	100.00
(vii) exceeding 5 000kg and not exceeding 10 000kg	130.00
(viii) exceeding 10 000 kg and not exceeding 25 000kg	160.00
(ix) exceeding 25 000kg and not exceeding 50 000kg	200.00
(x) exceeding 50 000kg and not exceeding 100 000kg	250.00
(xi) for every 50 000kg or part of that weight in excess of 100 000kg	50.00
(g) issue or renewal of a keeper’s licence to keep dangerous goods, including diesel fuel, (other than explosives) –
(i) not exceeding 10 units	40.00
(ii) exceeding 10 units and not exceeding 20 units	50.00
(iii) exceeding 20 units and not exceeding 30 units	60.00
(iv) exceeding 30 units and not exceeding 40 units	80.00
(v) exceeding 40 units and not exceeding 50 units	100.00
(vi) exceeding 50 units and not exceeding 75 units	120.00
(vii) exceeding 75 units and not exceeding 100 units	140.00
(viii) exceeding 100 units and not exceeding 150 units	160.00
(ix) exceeding 150 units and not exceeding 200 units	180.00
(x) exceeding 200 units and not exceeding 300 units	200.00
(xi) exceeding 300 units and not exceeding 400 units	250.00
(xii) exceeding 400 units and not exceeding 500 units	300.00
(xiii) exceeding 500 units and not exceeding 1 000 units	350.00
(xiv) for every 1 000 units or part of that volume in excess of 1 000 units	25.00

PART 3Fees for using public magazines

$
1. For each outer package, a week or part of a week	0.30
2. For deposits or issues outside such hours as may be determined by the Competent Authority for the opening of public magazines	100.00
