Dangerous Goods (Amendment) Ordinance 1987

An Ordinance to amend the Dangerous Goods Ordinance 1984

Short title

1.  This Ordinance may be cited as the Dangerous Goods (Amendment) Ordinance 1987.1

Principal Ordinance

2.  In this Ordinance, “Principal Ordinance” means the Dangerous Goods Ordinance 1984.2

Regulation

3.  Section 13 of the Principal Ordinance is amended by omitting from sub-section (1) all the words after “particular,” and substituting—

“may make regulations—

(a)exempting a specified person, or a person included in a specified class of persons, either absolutely or subject to conditions, from the requirement of all or any of the provisions of the Dangerous Goods Regulation in their application if the Territory; and

(b)prescribing penalties not exceeding $500 for offences against the regulations.”.

Schedule—Part 2

4.  The Schedule to the Principal Ordinance is amended—

(a)by inserting after item 13 in Part 2 the following item:

“13A    Clause 15A    Omit from paragraph 15A (8) (b) ‘Motor Traffic Act, 1909, or regulations made under that Act’, substitute ‘Motor Traffic Ordinance 1936 or the Motor Traffic (Alcohol and Drugs) Ordinance 1977, or regulations made under either of those Ordinances’.”;

(b)by inserting after item 24 in Part 2 the following items:

“24A    Clause 39      (a)  Omit from sub-clause (1) ‘State’, substitute ‘Territory’.

(b)Omit from sub-clause (2) ‘State’, substitute ‘Territory’.

24BClause 40      Omit from paragraph (b) ‘State’, substitute ‘Territory’.”;

(c)by inserting after paragraph (b) in the third column of item 45 in Part 2 the following paragraph:

“(ba)     Omit from paragraph (2) (b) ‘blasting’ (last occurring), substitute ‘detonating’.”;

(d)by inserting before paragraph (a) in the third column of item 49 in Part 2 the following paragraph:

“(aa)     Omit the sub-paragraph (1) (a) (v) ‘State’, substitute ‘Territory’.”; and

(e)by inserting after item 50 in Part 2 the following item:

“50A    Clause 93      Omit from sub-paragraph (2) (e) (i) ‘shooter’s’, substitute ‘gun’.”.
