I, Professor The Honourable Dame Marie Bashir AD CVO, Governor of the State of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 27 of the Dams Safety Act 1978, make the following Proclamation.

1      Name of Proclamation

This Proclamation is the Dams Safety Amendment (Prescribed Dams) Proclamation
2014.

2      Commencement

This Proclamation commences on the day on which it is published on the NSW legislation website.

Explanatory note

The objects of this Proclamation are:

(a)	to add the names and location of certain dams to the list of prescribed dams in Schedule 1 to the Dams Safety Act 1978 to enable the Dams Safety Committee to exercise certain functions in relation to the dams (including issuing notices requiring things to be done to ensure the safety of the dams), and
(b)	to omit the names and locations of certain other dams from the list of prescribed dams, so as to remove the prescribed status of those dams.
