Dams Safety Act 1978—Proclamation New South Wales

GORDON SAMUELS, Governor I, the Honourable Gordon Samuels AC, Governor of the State of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 27 (1) of the Dams Safety Act 1978, do, by this my Proclamation, amend Schedule 1 (Prescribed dams) to that Act:

(a)

by inserting in Columns 1 and 2 of that Schedule, in alphabetical order of the names of dams:

Antienne Lease Tailings Dam Off-stream, near Ravensworth
CSA Tailings Dam Off-stream, near Cobar
Garden Suburb Detention Basin Upper branch of Winding Creek, Garden
Suburb, Lake Macquarie
Peak Gold Mine Tailings Dam Off-stream, near Cobar
Rouse Hill Detention Basin 16 Smalls Creek, Rouse Hill, Sydney
Tumut Paper Mill Fresh Water Dam Off Sandy Creek, Tumut
Tumut Paper Mill Waste Water Dam Off Sandy Creek, Tumut
(b) by omitting from Columns 1 and 2 of that Schedule:
Camberwell Coal D1 Blackwalls Creek near Camberwell
Camberwell Coal C3 Station Creek near Camberwell
Hunter Valley Pit Water 14 Tributary of Farrells Creek near

Explanatory note

The object of this proclamation is to add certain dams to, and omit certain dams from, Schedule 1 to the Dams Safety Act 1978. That Act enables the Dams Safety Committee to exercise certain powers in relation to dams listed in Schedule 1, such as the issuing of a notice requiring work to be done in relation to the safety of a dam.
