DAMS SAFETY ACT 1978—PROCLAMATION

I, the Honourable Gordon Samuels AC, Governor of the State of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 27 (1) of the Dams Safety Act 1978, do, by this my Proclamation, amend Schedule 1 (Prescribed dams) to that Act:
(a)
by inserting in Columns 1 and 2 of that Schedule, in alphabetical order of the names of dams, the following matter:
Bayswater 3 - MMPW1 Quarry Creek near Muswellbrook El Klaros Tributary of Cedar Creek near Maitland
Hunter Valley Pit Water 14 Tributary of Farrells Creek near Muswellbrook

EXPLANATORY NOTE
The object of this Proclamation is to add to Schedule 1 to the Dams Safety Act 1978 certain dams which the Dams Safety Committee considers may present a safety hazard to life, property or the environment, and to omit from that Schedule those dams that the Committee considers no longer present such a hazard.
The Dams Safety Act 1978 enables the Committee to exercise certain powers i n relation to dams listed in that Schedule (eg the issuing of notices requiring work to be done in relation to the safety of a dam).
