REGULATIONS UNDER THE DAIRYING RESEARCH LEVY ACT 1972.*

WHEREAS the Dairying Research Committee has recommended to the Minister of State for Primary Industry:—

(a) that the rate of levy imposed by section 7 of the Dairying Research Levy Act 1972 on whole milk produced in Australia and sold by the producer should be the amount of 0.033 cent per gallon of whole milk; and

(b) that the rate of levy imposed by section 11 of that Act on butter fat produced in Australia from whole milk produced in Australia and sold by the producer should be the amount of 10 cents per hundredweight of butter fat:

NOW THEREFORE I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL in and over the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council and after taking into consideration those recommendations made to the Minister of State for Primary Industry by the Dairying Research Committee, hereby make the following Regulations under the Dairying Research Levy Act 1972.

DAIRYING RESEARCH LEVY REGULATIONS

Citation.

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Dairying Research Levy Regulations.

Commencement.

2. These Regulations shall come into operation on the first day of July, 1972.

Rate of levy on whole milk.

3. For the purposes of sub-section (1.) of section 7 of the Dairying Research Levy Act 1972, the amount per gallon of whole milk is 0.033 cent.

Rate of levy on butter fat.

4. For the purposes of sub-section (1.) of section 11 of the Dairying Research Levy Act 1972, the amount per hundredweight of butter fat is 10 cents.
