DAIRY INDUSTRY ACT 1979—PROCLAMATION

I, Rear Admiral PETER ROSS SINCLAIR, A. C., Governor of the State of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 5 (1) of the Dairy Industry Act 1979 do, by this my Proclamation, amend Schedule 1 to that Act, with effect on and
from * (a) by excluding the following description:
Cream, extra light cream or rich cream.
(b) by excluding the following descriptions:
Milk for separation into cream, extra light cream, rich cream or the purpose of pasteurising or sterilising the milk, cream, rich cream or skim milk, whether or not the pasteurisation or sterilisation is complete.
skim milk.
and by inserting instead the following descriptions:
Milk for separation into skim milk. pasteurising or sterilising the milk or skim milk, whether or not the pasteurisation or sterilisation is complete.
(c) by excluding the following description:
Ultra heat treated cream, ultra heat treated extra light cream or ultra heat treated skim milk, or cream, extra light cream or skim milk that has been treated by an ultra heat treatment method, whether or not the treatment is complete.

and by inserting instead the following description:
Ultra heat treated skim milk, or skim milk that has been treated by an ultra heat treatment method, whether or not the treatment is complete.
(d) by excluding the following names or descriptions:
UHT cream, longlife cream, UHT longlife cream or longlife extra light cream or longlife UHT extra light cream
UHT cream

EXPLANATORY NOTE
This Proclamation removes cream and cream products from the definition of “milk” for the purposes of the Dairy Industry Act 1979. The result is that the price of cream and cream products ceases to be subject to the present controls under the Act.
The Proclamation is made under section 5 (Amendment of Schedule 1) of that
Act.
