REASONS FOR DECISION TO DISMISS OBJECTION APPLICATIONS

Background

  1. On the dates set out in the attached schedule, the Government party gave notice under s 29 of the Native Title Act 1993 (Cth) of its intention to grant the listed exploration licenses and included in the notice a statement that it considered that the grants attracted the expedited procedure.

  2. On the dates set out in the attached schedule, Cyril Barnes & Ors on behalf of Central East Claim Group registered from 04 October 1999, made expedited procedure objection applications in relation to the tenements listed in the attached schedule.

  3. On 17 June 2014 the Central East Goldfields claim application (WC1999/030) was discontinued by the Federal Court. Therefore the Tribunal no longer has jurisdiction in relation to the objection applications.

Decision

  1. Expedited procedure objection applications as listed in the attached schedule are dismissed pursuant to s 148(a) of the Native Title Act 1993 (Cth).
