I, PETER JOHN McGAURAN, Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry, make this Notice under subsection 16A (1) of the Customs Tariff Act 1995.

1. Name of Notice

This Notice is the Customs Tariff (Safeguard Goods) Notice (No. 3) 2007.

1. Commencement

This Notice commences on the day after it is registered.

1. Goods to which this Notice relates

(1)   In this Notice:

Act means the Customs Tariff Act 1995.

safeguard goods has the meaning given by subsection 16A (7) of the Act.

(2) This Notice relates to safeguard goods classified under subheading 2008.20.00 in Schedule 3 to the Act.

Note   This subheading relates to pineapples.

1. Quantity of safeguard goods imported

The quantity of safeguard goods imported into Australia in the calendar year 2007 exceeds the quantity applicable for that year.

Note   Column 3 of item 2 of the table in subsection 16A (1) of the Act sets out the quantity of pineapples that may be imported before the Minister may make a Notice.
