The Parliament of Australia enacts:

1Short title

This Act may be cited as the Customs Tariff Amendment Act (No. 2) 1999.

2Commencement

1. (1)

   Subject to this section, this Act commences on the day on which it receives the Royal Assent.

2. (2)

   Schedule 1 is taken to have commenced on 1 July 1996.

3. (3)

   Schedule 2 is taken to have commenced on 25 May 1998.

4. (4)

   Schedule 3 is taken to have commenced on 1 July 1998.

5. (5)

   Schedule 4 is taken to have commenced on 1 September 1998.

6. (6)

   Schedule 5 is taken to have commenced on 1 January 1999.

7. (7)

   Schedule 6 is taken to have commenced on 1 April 1999.

8. (8)

   Schedule 7 commences 14 days after the day on which this Act receives the Royal Assent.

Subject to section2, each Act that is specified in a Schedule to this Act is amended or repealed as set out in the applicable items in the Schedule concerned, and any other item in a Schedule to this Act has effect according to its terms.
