Customs Tariff Amendment Act 1986

An Act to amend the Customs Tariff Act 1982

[Assented to 24 June 1986]

BE IT ENACTED by the Queen, and the Senate and the House of Representatives of the Commonwealth of Australia, as follows:

Short title, &c.

1. (1) This Act may be cited as the Customs Tariff Amendment Act 1986.

(2) The Customs Tariff Act 19821is in this Act referred to as the Principal Act.

Commencement

2. (1) Sections 1 and 2 shall come into operation on the day on which this Act receives the Royal Assent.

(2) Section 3 shall be deemed to have come into operation on 1 July 1985.

 

(3) Section 4 shall be deemed to have come into operation on 2 August 1985.

(4) Section 5 shall be deemed to have come into operation on 21 August 1985.

(5) Section 6 shall be deemed to have come into operation on 11 October 1985.

(6) Section 7 shall be deemed to have come into operation on 22 November 1985.

(7) Section 8 shall be deemed to have come into operation on 1 December 1985.

(8) Section 9 shall be deemed to have come into operation on 1 January 1986.

(9) Section 10 shall be deemed to have come into operation on 18 February 1986.

(10) Section 11 shall come into operation on 1 July 1986.

(11) Section 12 shall come into operation on the seventh day after the day on which this Act receives the Royal Assent.

Amendment of Schedule 3

After note 11 to Chapter 84 insert:

In this Schedule, “of the track-laying type” means goods which move over terrain on crawler tracks which, if removed, would render the goods immobile.”.
