REGULATIONS UNDER THE CUSTOMS ACT 1901-1935.*

(Twenty-eighth Amendment.)

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL in and over the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations under the Customs Act 1901-1935:—

Amendment of the Customs Regulations. 

Return of stores consumed.

1. Regulation 32 of the Customs Regulations is amended by omitting sub-regulation (2.) and inserting in its stead:—

“(2.) Where stores are consumed in Australian ports or in Australian waters particulars of all stores so consumed shall be furnished by the Master of the ship on Form 3.”

Form of invoice.

2. Regulation 34 of the Customs Regulations is amended by omitting sub-regulation (1.) and inserting in its stead:—

“(1.) Invoices for goods imported from all countries whether the goods are free of duty or subject to duty shall be in accordance with Form 7.”

3. Regulation 104 of the Customs Regulations is repealed and the following inserted in its stead:—

Transires.

“104.—(1.) In the case of an oversea vessel arriving at an Australian port from overseas and clearing at such port for an Australian port or ports or for an oversea destination via an Australian port or ports the master shall, at or before the time of clearance from the first port of call in Australia, take out a transire in form 22.A. and shall produce such transire to the Collector at each subsequent port of call in Australia. At each such subsequent port of call in Australia, other than the last port, the Collector shall endorse the word “Produced” on the transire and return it to the Master. The Collector at the last port of call in Australia shall retain the transire.

(2.) When goods subject to the control of the Customs are shipped on an oversea vessel at any Australian port to be discharged at another Australian port, the Master shall take out at the port of shipment of such goods a transire in Form 22 and shall deliver such transire to the Collector at the port at which the goods are to be discharged.

(3.) On arrival of an oversea vessel at an Australian port, not being its first port of call in Australia, at which no goods subject to Customs control which were shipped at another Australian port are to be discharged, the Master shall deliver to the Collector a transire in Form 22 endorsed “No under bond goods” and “No restricted exports”.”

Regulation 180 repealed.

4. Regulation 180 of the Customs Regulations is repealed.

Whereashas made application to me for a carriage licence under the CustomsAct 1901-1935 and the Regulations thereunder for Carriage, described in the Schedule hereto, of which he is the owner and has paid the prescribed fee and has given the prescribed security. Now therefore I hereby licence the said carriage  for the carriage within the said State of goods subject to the control of the Customs in the Port of  in the said State, such licence to be subject in all respects to the provisions of the said Act and any amendment thereof or any Act passed in substitution therefor and the Regulations for the time being in force thereunder; and I assign to the said carriage the licence number shown in the Schedule.
