Customs Regulations2 (Amendment)

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulation under the Customs Act 1901.

Authority to deal with goods

Regulation 23aa of the Customs Regulations is amended—

(a) by omitting “a copy of the entry” and substituting “a prescribed document”; and

(b) by adding at the end the following sub-regulation:

“(2) In this regulation—

‘commercial document’ has the same meaning as in section 38b of the Act;

‘copy of the entry in abridged form’ means—

(a) in respect of goods entered for home consumption pursuant to paragraph 68 (1) (a) of the Act, a copy containing the particulars required under paragraphs (a) to (d) (inclusive), (g), and (p) to (r) (inclusive) of sub-regulation 37 (1);

(b) in respect of goods entered for warehousing pursuant to paragraph 68 (1) (b) of the Act, a copy containing the particulars required under paragraphs (a) to (d)

(inclusive), (g), and (p) to (r) (inclusive) of sub-regulation 37 (1) and the particulars required under paragraph 37 (2) (b); or

(c) in respect of goods entered for home consumption pursuant to paragraph 99 (a) of the Act, a copy containing the particulars required under paragraphs (a) to (d) (inclusive) of sub-regulation 37 (1) and the particulars required under paragraph 37 (2) (b);

‘prescribed document’ means a copy of the entry, a copy of the entry in abridged form, or a commercial document which has been delivered to a Collector under section 38b of the Act and which has been dealt with in accordance with regulation 23a.”.
