Customs Regulations2 (Amendment)

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations under the Customs Act 1901.

Review by Administrative Appeals Tribunal

1. Regulation 138a of the Customs Regulations is amended—

(a) by inserting in paragraph (a) “refusing to approve goods being brought into Australia” after “Comptroller”;

(b) by inserting in paragraph (b) “refusing to give consent” after “Comptroller”;

(c) by inserting in paragraph (c) “refusing to approve payment of drawback in respect of goods” after “Comptroller”; and

(d) by inserting in paragraph (d) “refusing to approve payment of drawback” after “Comptroller”.

Notification of decision

2. Regulation 138b of the Customs Regulations is amended—

(a) by omitting from sub-regulation (1) “sub-regulation 138a (1), the Comptroller shall” and substituting “regulation 138a, the Comptroller shall, within 30 days after the date of the decision,”; and

(b) by omitting from sub-regulation (3) “sub-regulations (1) or” and substituting “sub-regulation”.
