Customs (Prohibited Imports) Regulations2 (Amendment)

I, The Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, make the following Regulations under the Customs Act 1901.

1.   Amendment

1.1   The Customs (Prohibited Imports) Regulations are amended as set out in these Regulations.

[Note: These Regulations commence on gazettal: see Acts Interpretation Act 1901, s. 48.]

2.   Regulation 4 (Goods the importation of which is prohibited unless conditions or restrictions are complied with)

2.1   Subregulation 4 (2):

Omit “Part 1 of”.

3.   Regulation 5 (Importation of drugs)

3.1   Paragraphs 5 (9) (b) and (e):

Omit “Comptroller”, substitute “CEO”.

4.   Regulation 5J (Importation of goods containing certain chemical compounds)

4.1   Subregulation 5J (1) (definition of “prescribed goods”, paragraph (b)):

Omit “of a type”, substitute “belonging to a group of compounds”.

5.   Schedule 2 (Goods the importation of which is prohibited unless the permission in writing of the Minister or an authorised person has been granted)

5.1   Schedule 2, items 1, 11, 30A, 31, 32, 33, 35 and 37:

Omit the items.

6.   Schedule 3 (Goods the importation of which is prohibited unless specified conditions, restrictions or requirements are complied with)

6.1   Schedule 3, items 12, 19 and 20:

Omit the items.
