Customs (Prohibited Imports) Regulations (Amendment) (Cth)
I, THE
GOVERNOR-GENERAL of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of
the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulation under the
Dated 26 October 1984.

Regulation 4m of the Customs (Prohibited Imports) Regulations is amended—
(a) by omitting sub-regulation (1) and substituting the following sub-regulation:
“(1) In this regulation, ‘prescribed radiotelephony equipment’ means radiotelephony equipment that transmits on frequencies selected by means of a frequency selector switch and by no other means.”; and
(b) by omitting sub-regulation (4) and substituting the following sub-regulation:
“(4) The importation into Australia of prescribed radiotelephony equipment that is capable of being used to transmit on a number of separate carrier frequencies exceeding one but not exceeding 12, one at least of which is a frequency in the range 26.965 megahertz to 27.8 megahertz (inclusive), being equipment—
(a) that delivers excessive transmitter output power; or

(b) on which transmission on a carrier frequency in the range 26.965 megahertz to 27.8 megahertz (inclusive) other than—
(i) a permissible carrier frequency; or
(ii) 27.230 megahertz, 27.240 megahertz, 27.250 megahertz, 27.260 megahertz, 27.270 megahertz, 27.280 megahertz, 27.330 megahertz, 27.550 megahertz, 27.560 megahertz, 27.580 megahertz, 27.590 megahertz, 27.620 megahertz, 27.660 megahertz or 27.760 megahertz,
is not prevented by means of—
(iii) an electronic component; and
(iv) the frequency selector switch,
is prohibited.”.
