REGULATIONS UNDER THE CUSTOMS ACT 1901-1935.*

I,THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL in and over the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations under the Customs Act 1901-1935.

Amendment of Customs (Prohibited Imports) Regulations. 

The Second Schedule to the Customs (Prohibited Imports) Regulations is amended as follows:—

(l) By deleting the number “1” from the first column and inserting in its stead the number “1a.”

(2) By inserting the following item:—

Item No.  Name or Description of Goods.

1 Advertising matter (including booklets, pamphlets, leaflets, circulars) relating to preparations, instruments, appliances or other goods intended or alleged to be for therapeutic purposes, containing any statements or claims which, in the opinion of the Minister, are misleading, false or extravagant.

(3) By deleting Item “16” and inserting in its stead the following item:—

Item No.    Name or Description of Goods.

16 Pistols and any parts thereof.

Note.—The term “pistol” includes any lethal weapon, ordinarily capable of being carried concealed on the person, from which any shot, bullet or missile can be discharged.
