(Prohibited Imports) Regulations2

the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations under the Customs Act 1901.

Principal Regulations
1. In these Regulations, “Principal
Regulations” means the Customs (Prohibited Imports) Regulations.
Importation of drugs
2. Regulation 5 of the
Principal Regulations is amended by omitting from subregulation (18) “Director-General”
and substituting “Secretary of the Department of Health”.
Licensed importers
3. Regulation 5b of the Principal Regulations is
amended by omitting from subregulation (2) “Director-General” and substituting “Secretary
of the Department of Health”.
Secretary of the
Department of Health to give reasons for refusal
4. Regulation 5f of the Principal Regulations is
amended by omitting from subregulation (2) “the last preceding sub-regulation”
and substituting “subregulation (1)”.

Importation of certain goods

5. Regulation 5h of the Principal Regulations is
amended by omitting from subregulation (3) “Director-General” and substituting “Secretary
of the Department of Health”.
Third Schedule
6. The Third Schedule to
the Principal Regulations is amended by omitting from item 23 “Director-General
of Health” and substituting “Secretary of the Department of Health”.
Eighth Schedule
7. The Eighth Schedule to
the Principal Regulations is amended by omitting from the heading “DIRECTOR-GENERAL
OF HEALTH” and substituting “SECRETARY OF THE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH”.
Further amendments
8. The provisions of the
Principal Regulations specified in the Schedule are amended by omitting “Director-General
of Health” (wherever occurring) and substituting “Secretary of the Department
of Health”.
