Customs Act 1901 .Dated 12 November 1999.

These Regulations are the
Customs (Prohibited Imports) Amendment Regulations 1999 (No. 7) .
These Regulations commence on gazettal.
Schedule 1 amends the
Customs (Prohibited Imports) Regulations 1956 .
(regulation 3)
omit (1999); and
insert (1999);
insert
(xvi) a country that is contributing to the multinational force established under United Nations Security Council Resolution 1272 (1999); and
insert
3B Criteria for the purposes of provisions of regulations 4 and 4F relating to police forces of certain overseas countries The criteria in relation to goods mentioned in subregulations 4 (1AAB) and 4F (2A) are that the goods:
(a) are goods the owner of which is a police force of a country that is contributing to the multinational force established under United Nations Security Council Resolution 1272 (1999); and
(b) have been imported into Australia by:
(i) the police force that is the owner of the goods; or
(ii) a member of that police force to whom the goods have been issued.

(1AAB) Also, subregulation (1) does not apply to goods that:
(a) are specified in item 29A of Schedule 2; and
(b) meet the criteria set out in regulation 3B.

(2A) Also, subregulation (1) does not apply to the importation of:
(a) a handgun that:
(i) is mentioned in column 2 in item 9 of Part 2 of Schedule 6; and
(ii) meets the criteria set out in regulation 3B; or
(b) a handgun part:
(i) to which item 10 of Part 2 of Schedule 6 applies; and
(ii) that meets the criteria set out in regulation 3B; or
(c) ammunition that:
(i) is mentioned in column 2 in item 20 of Part 2 of Schedule 6; and
(ii) meets the criteria set out in regulation 3B.
