Customs (Prohibited Exports) Regulations2 (Amendment)

I, WILLIAM PATRICK DEANE, Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, make the following Regulations under the Customs Act 1901.

1.   Commencement

1.1   These Regulations commence on gazettal.

2.   Amendment

2.1   The Customs (Prohibited Exports) Regulations are amended as set out in these Regulations.

3.   Regulation 13CE (Exportation of certain goods to Angola)

3.1   Subregulation 13CE (5) (definition of petroleum, subparagraph (c) (i)):

Omit “hydrogen sulphate;”, substitute “hydrogen sulphide;”.

4.   Regulation 13CH (Exportation of paramilitary equipment to Sierra Leone)

4.1   Subregulations 13CH (1), (2) and (3):

Omit the subregulations.

4.2   Subregulation 13CH (5) (definitions of authorised person, petroleum and petroleum product):

Omit the definitions.

5.   Regulation 13H (Certain applications to be referred)

5.1   Paragraph 13H (1) (a):

Omit the paragraph, substitute:

  • “(a)

    a permission under subregulation 9 (3), 13CA (2), 13CB (1), 13CE (1), (2) or (4A), or 13CG (1); or”.

5.2   Paragraph 13H (3) (a):

Omit the paragraph, substitute:

  • “(a)

    a permission under subregulation 9 (3), 13CA (2), 13CB (1), 13CE (1), (2) or (4A), or 13CG (1); or”.

5.3   Paragraph 13H (4) (b):

Omit the paragraph, substitute:

  • “(b)

    in relation to an application for a permission under subregulation 13CA (2), 13CB (1), 13CE (1), (2) or (4A), or 13CG (1)—the Minister for Foreign Affairs; or”.
