REGULATIONS UNDER THE CUSTOMS ACT 1901-1963.*

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL in and over the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations under the Customs Act 1901-1963.

Amendments of the Customs (Prohibited Exports) Regulations. 

1. Regulation 2 of the Customs (Prohibited Exports) Regulations is repealed and the following regulation inserted in its stead:—

Interpretation.

“2.—(1.) In these Regulations, ‘poppy straw’ means any part (other than the seeds) of the opium poppy (Papaver Somniferum).

“(2.) In these Regulations, a reference to a Schedule by number shall be read as a reference to the Schedule so numbered to these Regulations.”.

Second Schedule.

2. The Second Schedule to the Customs (Prohibited Exports) Regulations is amended by inserting in Part I., after item 8, the following item:—

“9

Poppy straw”.
